Adoption Assistance Program, University of Connecticut Health Center (AAP)
The Adoption Assistance Program (AAP) provides assessment, education, brief counseling and referral services to adoptive families and to those touched by adoption. Challenges may be encountered at different developmental stages in a child’s life. Whether you have a simple question or are seeking support around something more difficult, the AAP may be contacted to guide you.
The program is housed at the UConn Health Center in Farmington, Connecticut. Regional case management is available in the following areas: Greater New Haven, Greater Waterbury, Greater Bridgeport, and Greater Norwich. Services through the AAP are offered at no cost. If you are referred to an outside resource or service, the cost may be offset by insurance. Staff may be reached Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm at 860-679-4006 or toll free in Connecticut at 877-679-1961.
Connecticut Association of Foster and Adoptive Parents (CAFAP)
The Connecticut Association of Foster and
Adoptive Parents (CAFAP) is an association dedicated to providing support,
training and advocacy services for foster, adoptive and relative caregiver
parents.

Lutheran Social Services of New England (LSS)
The LSS Post Adoption
Resource Center works with adoptive families of all faiths before, during
and after adoption and addresses issues experienced by families created through
all types of adoption including domestic, international, waiting child, and
kinship adoption. Programs are offered for children and parents, adoption
professionals, and educators. Family activities, counseling services,
cultural events, information and referrals, and a resource library are all
available.
The services of the LSS Post-Adoption Resource Center are offered at various
locations throughout Connecticut and facilitated by adoptees and/or adoptive

The Family Affirmation Center for Treatment, LLC (FACT)
The Family Affirmation Center for Treatment
(FACT) provides a team approach to working with adoptive families, providing
services to multiple family members as necessary, while at the same time working
to limit the amount of time loss from work. FACT provides clinical counseling
services to individuals and families, and offers therapeutic groups and
mentoring support. Case management and advocacy services are available. Staff
will attend school, DCF, and Juvenile Justice meetings as required. Assessment
and clinical report services are available.

Touched By Adoption (TBA)
Touched By Adoption
offers counseling services and adoption support and education groups for
children, adolescents, parents and families.
